Appearance
Well and truly random. Alex has no constancy or control here. See Power below.
Equipment and Resources
Barely enough money to get by. Has a Patreon page half dedicated to their art and half to random acts of superheroism. Had a nice egg saved up, but got a small studio apartment in town and had to pay several months rent up front since they don't have an actual job yet, making things very tight. They're looking for a job right now to pay bills.
Fanny pack with the smallest phone available, with a small solar charger. Includes a small first aid kit and ultra lightweight minimal clothing. Between being a nature-hobo and the specifics of their power, they've become something of a naturalist and forgo clothing unless absolutely required by society.
Skills and Specializations
They spent a lot of time doing art while on the road. Almost exclusively sketches, but damn fine ones. Nature scenes, wildlife, things like that. Good enough they could theoretically be a sketch artist for the police. Had to learn field medicine by necessity of living alone in the wild. Can't drive. Has a college education.
Mentality
Alex is an idealist, frustrated with the world. "Why won't people just... help each other. It's not that hard! Look, I'm doing it right now!" Is more exasperated than anything though. They want to fix as much as they can. They're a people pleaser and just want people to be happy. Their main anger-switch is when people get too controlling of others, leading to issues with authority. All told, they're pretty naiive.
Power
Animal changer. Pick an animal, become it. Changing heals wounds slightly, but not a lot. Changing back to human is always rough because it's never their body, it's just... random human. This, among their other issues, has led to near complete dissociation from their body. Not healthy, but they can't do much about it.
Limits: ten second change. One hour Cooldown on becoming an animal. Must return to human form before changing into something else. Changing more than 6 times a day is exhausting. Must deal with feral instincts while shifted- vulnerable to emotion effects that feed into them, and they can take over when stress is incredibly high. Can't get smaller than a rat or bigger than a rhino.
A second trigger is not possible.
