Attacked New York city in 2018, the only Endbringer to be killed in its first appearance. This along with its amusing name, have caused some to overlook the massive loss of life it caused and refer to it as the 'Runt of the Litter.'
A view that is not appreciated by the residents of New York, or its various cape teams, who lost family and friends to the Endbringers first and only attack.
Aug 12 2018 (Croc-o-saur I) - New York, New York
Croc-o-saur's arrival in New York, was far quieter than other Endbringers, staying below the radar until it was too late to deal with easily.
NYC Wards 'Jolly Jack' & 'Jolly Jill' were routed from their patrol route towards Times Square, where a number of frantic callers were reporting a reptilian cape was attacking vehicles and pedestrians.
The pair of Wards attempted to talk down what was originally believed to be a Belligerent Case-53. They were forced to retreat swiftly from after the 'case-53' exhibited a variable blaster power.
The Wards retreating to a safe distance to cordon off the area, while awaiting reinforcements, giving the temporary cape designation 'Croc-o-saur' (in Hindsight, Jolly Jack has expressed regret at the choice of designation.)
By the time a more cohesive Protectorate response had arrived and cleared the immediate area of civilians, the Endbringer had grown to nearly the size of a train car. and was melting abandoned cars to slag with a combination of Fire and Acid.
The first reported death was 'Flare Blitz' after an attempt to corral the EB into a wall of PRT officers with Containment foam launchers, was met with return fire in the form of a beam of concentrated Gamma radiation.
Things got out of hand quickly after the callous death of a comrade, The EB's gradual but steady growth rate, its impressive regeneration, and its variable ranged attacks managing to keep local heroes at bay long enough that even their heavy hitters couldn't quite manage a big enough hit to finish things.
Thinker analysis was requested, and quickly enough SWORDFISH thinkers realized this wasn't just a ramping cape gone off the deep end, but an Endbringer attack that had flown under the radar.
Endbringer sirens were activated, and calls for aid were sent out. The Truce was in effect.
The assistance of local villains had a noticeable effect, New York was none for its frankly absurd cape population after all, but no Endbringer has ever been easy to kill.
The poorly named Croc-o-saur managing to drag things out long enough that it had grown large enough to swat aside buildings, reducing a swath of city to rubble, as it slew as many people as it could, civilian and cape alike were flattened into paste, reduced to ash, or even swallowed whole into its blade filled maw.
Croc-o-saur was eventually slain by the sacrifice of local Mafia Enforcer 'Fragmentation' an up and coming explosives fabrication tinker, who with assistance managed to cram his entire mobile workshop into the gullet of the Endbringer, before manually detonating the reactor, and the full payload of experimental explosives.
