Important NPCS

Three (3) names stand out among the variety of street level Fixers and middle-men that Duelist was able to get into contact with.

'Lady' Jasper Godwin: Is a Pimp, plain and simple. Godwin has several small but lucrative holdings across the county, and has thrown in her lot with the Mob, to get the Devilfish Police off her back. Association with the Mob grants her protection, as well as powerful parahuman allies.

Jameson Ricci: Looking like an Italian grandfather in his late 60's, Jameson is originally an experienced middle-manager in the NYC mob, his age plus his deteriorating health meant he gracefully and amicably split away, nowadays he's a Fixer and a businessman, having moved to Devilfish a decade ago to be closer to his grandkids.

Jameson is an old fashioned sort, and after some negotiation from the NYC contingent, has agreed to help Duelist in his capacity as a small-time fixer, and a business owner, under the promise that when he eventually passes, that the Mob watch out for his grandkids in his stead.

Blaine McCarthy: A small dour Irishman, Blaine is an accountant, and a damn good one at that. Blaine and Duelist had worked together during her time in Chicago when she'd been a part of the 'East-side Deviants', forming a sort of working-friendship.

He'd not known of her allegiances with the Mob, but has snapped to attention when she'd requested she work for him, and explained the situation. He was a criminal, a smart one, and above all he desired job security. As far as Blaine is concerned a criminal's job security doesn't get much more secure than the Mob, working directly for a cape who you could consider a friend.

Group Holdings

Big Jim's Salvage

Big Jim's Salvage yard encompasses an exceptionally large lot With several buildings that include:

  • Processing Warehouse: By far, the largest structure, contains the various heavy equipment, and bits and bobs needed to process literal tons of raw materials and scrap.
  • New Administration: This is where the business gets done, has areas for offices, storage for the more expensive equipment (Geiger counters, etc), break-room, employee storage lockers, that kinda thing.
  • Old Administration: As the name suggests, This was was where the Admin used to happen. Never got Renovated when Big Jim died, now its a slightly musty building with partially exposed wiring and drywall. Probably gonna be used for storage or for Mob stuff.
  • The Scrap heaps: It is what it says on the tin, not quite a landfill, the amount of scrap and junk is still impressive, stacks of crushed cars, appliances, etc. supposedly there is a system to the chaos. Features a variety of heavy hydraulic machinery of a crushing/compacting variety.
  • The Storage Containers: A clutter of U-hauls and Cargo containers. home to a variety of junk. Parts that are valuable but niche enough to keep in storage long term, old processing equipment, various bits of building materials from the aborted renovations of the old Admin building, etc.

Charlie Street 'Black Couch' Warehouse

A Property owned by Lady Godwin, The Charlie Street Warehouse is an approx. 470,000 square feet, and is in decent condition. Though its not seen much use.

Originally Purchased by Godwin for use in pornography, but was only ever used for a couple shoots, before her attention was drawn back to more lucrative things. There are two back rooms set aside for that should she desire it, but the rest is basically for the Mob to utilize.

At least this way she'll hopefully make some financial returns from the property.

Baker Street Apartment Complex

A small apartment complex, owned by Lady Godwin, about 10 of the rooms are registered as 'unoccupied' but are used as discreet and relatively safe locations for her escorts to work.

The Baker Street Apartments are actually pretty decent as far as apartments go, Godwin is one of the landlords least deserving of a landlord's fate, and actually makes some effort to make the tenants happy. Several rooms have been set aside for Duelist and her capes to use discreetly in an emergency, the only one that sees consistent use is the apartment given to Mask.

For the most part this is a regular apartment complex, with a small section set aside for prostitution, and an even smaller section set aside for The Mob.

Luigi's Italian Bistro

Legally owned by Jameson Ricci, 'Luigi's Italian Bistro' is a pretty popular restaurant in downtown Devilfish, serving a mix of genuine and Americanized Italian cuisine.

Contrary to what you might expect, the Bistro actually won't be used for money laundering, instead used for the occasional discreet meeting with non-parahuman contacts. Additionally the back office is set aside for Blaine McCarthy, the accountant.

The employees are all handpicked by Jameson, the manager being his nephew. The employees aren't actually 'in-the-know' but are the kind of rough-edged men and women that aren't typically snitches (something Jameson looks for when hiring out of habit.)

Equipment

The Salvage yard does provide access to some niche equipment. Namely Industrial/Construction equipment. The Yard has a number of claw-cranes, excavators, loaders, specialized trucks, forklifts, among other things that help keep one of Devilfish's largest Salvage yard's operational.

Weaponry and Ammunition

  • Twenty-Seven (27) Glocks of various make
  • Twelve (12) Revolvers of various make
  • Nine (9) Shotguns, six (6) pump action, three (3) double barrel
  • Some assorted common calibers of ammo, and a whole duffel bag of attachments: holsters, magazines, sights, stocks. While a number of them aren't compatible with what they have at their disposal, some of them do, and what doesn't may be useful in the future.
