A new character who has been seen working with known members of the mob. Very little information available for now.
Character Sheet
Appearance
Civ: A tall young man, light brown curly hair in a light undercut. Handsome features, mouth is maybe a bit large and expressive. Curious multicolored eyes, which he often hides behind mirrored aviators.
Cape: A sharply angled, steel full-face mask. Mostly featureless except for the eyes: large, round mirrored lenses. For the rest, whatever he's wearing at the time, generally easy clothes to move in.
Equipment and Resources
- Mask
- Two steel batons, for when he wants to extend his range
- Occasionally flashbangs and smoke grenades
- A motorbike, to get around
A small apartment, slightly run-down because he was gone for a few months. Works for the Mafia as an enforcer (for now at least), which gives him a decent income. Owns a cat.
Wealth level: 5
Skills and Specializations
- Mixed Martial Arts: He's got experience from the simulation, and he's following courses. He's talented and actively getting better
- Stick fighting
- Athleticism and acrobatics
- Quick thinking
- Lip reading and ASL: he's not good at it yet, but he's learning
- A bit of a power geek, interested in Manton effects and limitations. For understandable reasons, he also recently got interested in cluster mechanics
Mentality
A generally nice guy. Cheerful, nice smile, pleasant voice, all that. Seems to keep his cheer no matter the circumstance. He's usually friendly and polite even to his enemies, making friendly chit-chat while actively kicking their teeth in. He is also theatrical, often making grand, sweeping gestures when using his powers, even though it's not necessary.
He may be nice, but he is not a good guy. He hasn't got a lot of empathy for people, and is willing to do a lot to achieve his goals.
Mental issues ho! When he's in an intense fight and the adrenaline really gets pumping, he sometimes reverts to the instincts from the simulation. This is bad, because he had a superhuman body in there, and he may try to do things he's not physically capable of in the real world.
Power
Trigger type: Natural Cluster
Primary power: Energy
Thinker
Levi sees the 'webs' of energy (potential and kinetic) within things, and he has an instinctual understanding of what he sees.
It allows him to predict people's movements a moment in advance, by reading the changes and surges in the flow of energy.
More importantly, with the understanding it gives, he also knows where to strike to weaken and disperse the force of any movements. Both these factors make him a dangerous foe in melee, because he can foresee the movements of his opponent and make any strike of theirs close to harmless. However, armor or thick skin will block him from properly affecting these points.
He can see these 'webs' within roughly 20 meters, and he can slightly see them through solid surfaces. He can see them in invisible people, but nothing in illusions.
Subpower: Overwriting
Shaker
Levi can overwrite small 'cuts' of objects (strictly Manton-limited to living creatures) with air, sending them to a pocket dimension. Effectively, he chooses a small (like 15 cm across) spherical area of space within 10 meters of him, and turns any living tissue in it to air. He can use it on himself, but pretends he cannot.
Overwritten parts are still connected to the rest of the body, so limbs won't fall off and Levi can't kill someone by 'pocketing' their heart. When the place something should occupy is occupied by something else when it returns, the most mobile of the two intersecting objects will be shunted to the nearest free space.
He tends not to use it on heads, out of respect for masks.
Subpower: Flawed copies
Stranger
By making physical contact with someone, he wraps an illusion around them that looks like him. The illusion is intangible, but adapts to the body shape. It features everything he is wearing at the time of creation, and even disguises voices (but not body language). The illusions fall apart after roughly one hour.
Subpower: Desensitized
Brute
A rather simple ability to numb his own senses to varying degrees. This has uses like numbing pain, but also turning his sight or hearing off to avoid a Master ability. When turned off the senses are completely deactivated, so they can't be overstimulated (strong sensations leave no lasting effects).
Cluster Mechanic
The relation between the members of the VR Cluster is competitive: whenever they come across each other they will feel an intense drive to defeat (but not to kill) each other. It's not fully overwhelming and can be fought of, but this is very difficult.
The cluster members can also sense each other's presence in close proximity.
Backstory
Levi followed an ad looking for testers for an "absolutely life-like gaming experience". Sadly this turned out to be a ruse by a Tinker specializing in simulations, who trapped him and pitted him against others in a high octane deathmatch-type-thing.
Eventually, something went wrong. As the simulation started glitching and breaking, the world literally falling apart around him, Levi Triggered. The glitches also caused three others to Trigger and break free, but sadly the Tinker who put them there got away before they did.
Levi was free again, but something had changed in him. He still craved that action, that excitement, and he definitely wanted to use these new powers. He had no interest in being a hero, but also knew he didn't have the skills and resources to be a solo villain. He started searching for groups, and quickly got interested in the organized structure of the Mafia.
