Equipment and Resources

  • Equipment
 * Plain black mask.
 * Small handheld pepper spray thing.
  • Resources
 * Financially dependent on parents.

Skills and Specializations

Good situational awareness. Able to keep her composure most of the time. Some minor martial arts training.

Mentality

Caitlyn takes everything seriously. Her main goal is to never be ignored again. She is terrified of failure or humiliation which shapes her every interaction. Most things can be forgiven, exceptions being disrespect and humiliation - deliberate, accidental or percieved.

Power

Persuasiveness. The more she talks to someone - or a small group of people - the more they’ll get caught up in the persuasion. When she starts talking it is normal, after a short conversation she sounds reasonable and after a while they would become convinced of whatever she is saying. It doesn’t force them to do something but makes them believe that they should do it. After enough time away from her then they could come to realise that they don’t know why they believe it, the closer they agree with it the longer it lasts and the inverse. For example, telling someone who loves their family to run away from them would wear off quickly while telling someone who hates theirs to do the same might get reinforced by the person.

In a more mechanical sense it works as follows:

After Three (3) Minutes realistic suggestions, become easier to accept.
After Six (6) Minutes lies that are technically possible but incredibly unlikely, would become much easier to accept.
After Nine (9) Minutes Blatant lies that are only partially grounded in reality, would become easier to accept.
After Twelve (12) Minutes facts that can be pretty easily disproven are easier to accept.

The effect generally lasts for 5 hours to three days without being reinforced.

It comes with the secondary effect of enabling her to appear unshakably confident.

Trigger type: Natural, First Generation

Backstory

Caitlyn was born in the UK to an American father who travelled between Britain and America When she was sixteen - after finishing her GCSEs -, she moved to Devilfish with her parents. Her father grew up there and decided to move after getting a job there, having wanted to return for several years.

People would never take Caitlyn seriously, dismissing her and laughing at her suggestions. She triggered in the wake of a particularly thorough and humiliating dismissal.
